Is it safe?
Yes — for the vast majority of births. Encapsulation is safe after water births, epidurals, inductions, C-sections and most medical scenarios. See our full FAQ for the few exceptions.
Do you cover my area?
We cover all mainland UK, including hospital and home births. Pricing varies by delivery zone — select yours at checkout.
What types of capsules do you offer?
We offer three types:
- Simple Capsules (reported to give more energy — our most popular choice)
- Steamed Capsules (reported to have a more calming effect, steamed with lemon, chilli and ginger)
- 50/50 Capsules (a combination of both for the best of both methods).
How many capsules will I get?
The number varies depending on the size of your placenta. On average, clients receive between 100 and 200+ capsules — the most we’ve produced from one placenta is 244!
When should I place my order?
We accept bookings from 12 weeks pregnant. We’ll send your cool pack with full instructions at around 36 weeks. If you are past 36 weeks, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability.
How quickly do I get my capsules?
We collect within 12 hours of birth and process within 24 hours in our dedicated facility. Most clients receive their capsules within 48–72 hours of giving birth.
Are you registered and insured?
Yes. We are fully insured by BGI.uk with professional indemnity and public liability cover, and we are IPEN trained in placenta remedies, infection control and food hygiene. Your placenta is prepared in our dedicated facility in Hockley, Essex — only one placenta enters the facility at a time.
